Loudin

GANZ

In the empty void,
Stands the little man
His mind spinning to no end.

The voices calling and imploring:
“Free yourself,” “Succeed,” “Don’t look back,”
“Forget your needs – your desires.”

I can’t stop…
I can’t stop thinking…
These thoughts; they can’t be mine.

I hear them always.
But why? Why do they haunt me?
I don’t understand! Leave me be!

When I stop, what will I see:
A young man, Mrs. Ganz, my dog – Stains, myself?
Yes, myself, two of them.

They’re on either side of me.
Release me! Let me go!
The burden is more than I can bear!

I’m already alone.
I’ve lost al sense of space.
I can’t find my place.

In the empty void,
Stands the little man
His mind spinning to no end.
