Fireside

Dancing on the top of a stick, no where to go, yet freedom resides in the air all around. A gust of wind strikes fear in the dancer's dance. "The power of the wind is too much, my breath is leaving me , I feel so small so helpless. But what is this, a sense of freedom, a new stage to dance on, free reign to go wherever the power of the wind should take me. To dance on through the fields and on into an eternal bliss. Stronger and stronger I feel, growing ever greater in my new found sense of freedom.

But, who is this that has given me the chance to dance into eternity? I should think it would be nature, but wait, who are they that I see? I see something other than the stages of fuel that nature gave my forefather's to dance upon. Am I as free as I had hoped to be? Ooh! That is cold! Why is it that I should be treated like this? I have not over stepped my boundaries. I have only sought to dance on this stage and walk along its boarders. I was trained to jump from stage to stage and climb on the gusts of wind as they approach. I will do as I have been taught. I was created to dance wherever I choose. I dance where all can see. Take me wind, I beg of you, where all can wonder in my blaze. Off I will go. I was not created to be controlled by these slaveholders. My freedom was given to me once; I will not have it taken away. So I will dance for them, and they may stand in amazement at my splendor, as I jump from stage to stage.
