My wife's grandma, Esther Dale, died a couple of days ago...We weren't surprised, but that doesn't necessarily lessen the blow, sadness, awakening. Adrienne has been such a wonderful sister, daughter, wife, grandaughter...I love watching and listening to her speak with her family. She has such a deep and rich love for them. She knows how to live the steady flow of coming and going. Her grandmother passed and with that passing Adrienne will bring into the world new life with Esther's Great Grandaughter Camille Rachelle.
I can't help but see a slight resemblance in the world of theatre to this life we live. We read a play, we live the story in our minds, then collaborate with a group to create what we have imagined...The result a beautiful world...
Shortly after we create the production, it has lived its life, told its story to a dozen or a thousand; we say goodbye. It isn't a surprise, and we have seen it before...been taught how to say goodbye, yet each show that lives and dies (at least in a sense...because we always have the memories) is hard to say goodbye to. Sadness inevitably arises. A few embrace it and enjoy; and the other few regret it and wish for it back again unable to enjoy the mere memory. The steady flow of theatre...its comings and goings...Life...

Life seems to be a steady flow of coming and going...
