Freesia Flower.
It was an extremely challenging and heart wrenching period in our lives. An experience that many people have, it is said that one in five pregnancies will end with a miscarriage. Since the loss of our child, I have been developing a way to dedicate something special to her memory for myself and Adrienne.
I would like to get five barrels to represent the average pregnancy. I will position the barrels so that the four successful pregnancies are set on four corners with the miscarriage in the center. I will fill the successful pregnancies with water and the miscarriage with paper. The barrels with the water will, however, have small holes punctured throughout the barrel. This will allow for the water to slowly drain out as a pregnancy slowly progresses until a child is born full and flowing with life. The barrel with the paper inside will be lit a blaze and burn down rapidly ending with the tragic ashes of the child born shriveled and lifeless.
The original difficulty with this installation piece was that I couldn't find a place to install it in Southern California during the late spring. There were too many fires at the time. I am however ready to start making preparations for the installation to be established this fall. I hope I can receive permission to set this up on a burn day.
How many of you have had a miscarriage or have had a friend or spouse that has had one?

I hope they let you set that up. I would love to see a dedication to our forgotten child. It's sad to think about the fact that many people do forget about these babies that never make it. I love you and thank you for remembering with me. =)
