Today was another great day in the lab! We began by reviewing our work from yesterday. Asking questions that may have arose as we played late into the night on our new VW toys.
Then, we moved quickly into exploring how to create a Center line section. By pasting a copy of our Ground Plan onto a fresh layer, we were able to take quick measurements of the walls that we had created and bring them into reality. We then began to have some fun by creating a person and placing them into our set. This was great, because we could manipulate them in nearly any position that we wanted to...So, if we wanted to show them lying dead we could or if we wanted to show them walking we could or if we wanted to show them waving we could...it really was quite fun.
After this was accomplished, we moved into the real work of the lighting designer as we began to place instruments onto the set. We created a label legend, selected our choice of soft symbols, and then began to choose and select...and off we went. We wrapped up the day with a quick look into a few video training programs on Nemetschek's website. Check it out...here...
I can't wait for tomorrow as we will begin to look at 3D and rendering...at least I hope!
The results after day 2...
