Antigone

The first production to be staged for the UMass Theater Departments 2009-2010 Season will be Antigone. Our production crew has been selected:

Costume Design: Esther Hammond
Sound Design: Thad Kramer
Lighting Design: Jonathan Hicks

The scenic design is underway, and our director and dramaturg have selected a translation, Seamus Heaney's THE BURIAL AT THEBES.

The first steps have felt like leaps to me as I begin to sort through the text, the scenic ideas, and the over arching ideologies being developed about the play, that will eventually shape our production.

I am so excited about this process, as I am always about the beginning of new adventures! I look forward to a wonderfully challenging journey.
