I was perusing The Joyce website recently (they also have a blog...) and discovered a video (scroll down a little bit until you find the you-tube video feed) of a dance company called Pilobolus. This company has been around for a few years and appears to have done some fairly intriguing stuff. I think I am going to look into them a little more and see what I can find. If anybody happens to have seen a show of theirs I would be interested in hearing about the experience. I will let you know if I find anything interesting. Another awesome thing about this company is that they are based practically in my backyard in Connecticut. Anyway, check this stuff out if you like to see people move their bodies in amazing ways, like attractive looking people, or happen to enjoy seeing the human muscle work to its most profound potential in the most fantastic environments.

Google washed me up on your shores. I had the extraordinary privilege of producing 7 TV & 8 print commercials with P; and saw the closing performance at their Joyce season last year. That was a hoot - tired dancers end of season and final mad performance. Best you can do is get yourself down to NYC and experience it all first hand. I would hate to define their style, but it ranges from the ridiculous to the obscure and magical. Organic, mysterious or plain fun; as far as my experience goes they have invented a new dance vocabulary. I would certainly be double-blessed to ever again work with, or experience, such a profound and delightfully light, creative force.

Thank you Matt! I will check out the Pilobolus Bidvest soon. I hope to make a few trips to NY soon, hopefully it will overlap with a performance of theirs.
