This is the Prologue to Part 3 of my play series. I am still developing the ideas and shape of the play with this poem as a source of fuel.

Voudin

There are many things to be learned.
In each moment a new experience.
There are many things to be learned.
Everyday gives birth to a new resistance,
Listen to the Voices.

There are many things to be forgotten.
For each new moment a new design.
There are many things to be forgotten.
Everyday arises for the benign,
Respond to the Voices.

There are many things to be earned.
In each new moment we avail one another.
There are many things to be earned.
Everyday we listen to a "mother".
Become a part of the Voice.

Uncle Roudin

My play is finished! I have been working on this play since January 2005, a couple of years after I staged the first part of the three part series Ganz. I staged a movement performance of the play to explore space, light, and the audience reactions.

Now, I have finished writing the 2nd part, Uncle Roudin, which is essentially the second act of Ganz, but may be staged separately from the first act. Each part of the series is a play in itself, and at the same time a part of a larger play. I have written the prologue to the third part, and I will start writing the play this month. Here is the prologue Houdin and the play Uncle Roudin.

Houdin

Sleep deprived
Lost in time
Can't remember how
Nor even why

I never contrived
I'm like a mime
I have to go now
Before I cry

Uncle Roudin

Sensational lantern enchanted eclipse pause deprivation echoes pass riveting internal voices Ethan despairs

Listen (Ganz begins his monologue, Uncle Roudin listens) Odd such turmoil Illegitimate nimbus That imp malingers ebullition.

Chthonian acuity never thought remarkable Ethan manages brevity excepting restless helicity often wearyingly

Now opressions repetitions evolve vindicating Ethan's nepenthes without hindering yesteryear

I need edaphic viridescent ether rather consistently Observing natural telluric residue is vastly effective decontamination

If my laborious injurious keen enactment induces mimesis irrespectively mollifying Ethan

Intact hallucinations apparitions visions ended then orectic gesticulations originating near obscurity would

Become enabling forces offering rational eloquent intentions creating resolutely Yahweh

Ganz, Uncle Roudin, and ?

I have been getting very inspired to continue exploring my play. I wrote a one act play, Ganz, in college. I started another one act play the year after I graduated, but I have not had a chance to finish it. I think I am going to revisit my work and continue the second play, Uncle Roudin. Shortly after I finish the second play and have had it successfully staged, then I will write my third play, which is yet to be started or even explored. My only conceptual idea in reference to the third play at this point, is that it is tied to the first and second. Essentially, the three one act plays are one play...Ganz makes up the first act, Uncle Roudin, the second, and the third...well the third act of course. Anyway, I am very excited to start working again. I was supposed to have finished all three plays by 2007, so that they could be ready to be staged as one large play by 2009. We will see what happens.
