Arsenic and Old Lace--viii.

Moving out the old set and putting in the new one. A couple of crew members showed up this morning at 8am so I couldn't get one last shot of the set from Rabbit Hole.

Rabbit Hole strike...

They tore out the furniture, then we came in and started ripping out the walls.

Rolling unit...

This unit looks tiny in this picture, but it is actually 12 x 12 x 12. Not huge, but bigger than that little cube. Amazing what perspective will do.

Rolling unit flipped over...

We got 10 people together and grabbed the unit from all sides, then flipped it over. It came down with a bang. This set took 12 hours to install and a week to build...we tore it out in 1 hour, stored it, and trashed what we couldn't recycle. I hate the tear down process only because of how easy it is to destroy something beautiful. It had to be done, and I have great memories from the process.

My camera died after lunch, so I couldn't take any pictures of the process of us putting in the new set, but here is what we got installed at the end of the day.

End of strike and load-in...

This is our biggest set of the summer. It looks a lot like a model in this photo, but that set is about 40 feet wide and 16 feet tall. It was a blast to roll in, attached to the ground, and then connect the door unit and window unit.
